Congratulations! You've been put in charge of a brand new television network, dedicated to bringing canceled shows back to life for a new season. You've got ten hours of prime time to fill per week, and any show, regardless of how long ago it went off air, is eligible. What's playing on YOUR network next fall?
My network would be a sister affilliate to Jen's MA channel, because she is my spirit sister in all things pop culture. Mine is going to be called "the LZ," because I am LZ, and that's the way I want it. :)
The LZ's Weekly Lineup

8 pm/7 central: Everwood
9 pm/8 central: Party of Five
Tuesday:
8 pm: Gilmore Girls
9 pm: Veronica Mars

From MemeGirls:
Pick three characters from one or more of your books or WIPs and go to http://babynames.com or the baby name site of your choice to look up the meanings of their names. Copy and paste the meanings and your characters' names into your blog, and tell us if the meanings fit.
My answers:
1. Lucy Doyle, protagonist from CONTENTS UNDER PRESSURE. According to this site, Lucy means "light," which can be interpreted many ways. But it also references "I Love Lucy," which works for me since my Lucy is every bit as klutzy and lovable as Lucille Ball.
2. Stella Madison, protagonist from my WIP. Apparently the meaning of Stella is "star." Again, open to interpretation. But since I often listen to PJ Harvey's "O Stella," which features the lyrics, "Stella Marie, you're my star," I'll say it goes.
3. Morgan Carter, protagonist from Lola's TRUE CONFESSIONS OF A HOLLYWOOD STARLET. Supposedly, Morgan means "Great Circle." Lola says that could mean the circle of life, or things coming full circle, which in some ways echoes Morgan's journey. I say I'm not a fan of this baby name site, and am going to try an alternate below.
With http://www.americanbaby.com:
1. Lucy = light-bringer; "Thanks to Lucille Ball, people think of Lucy as a very funny redhead who is bouncy, zany, loud, and lovable." Yep, this is my Lucy. Except for the redhead part.
2. Stella = star; "Most people regard Stella as a dowdy, old-fashioned, and hardworking but slow-witted old crab. Some, though, think Stella is pretty, seductive, and worldly." Yeah, my Stella is none of the above. Well, she's pretty. But even her prettiness isn't the kind that could be characterized as seductive and worldly.
3. Morgan = from the edge of the sea; "Morgan is strongly associated with the image of Morgan Fairchild. People picture Morgan as a drop-dead beautiful, blond, well-tanned actress or model who gives off successful vibes." <-- very interesting, as Lola tells me she had no idea what the name signified when she chose it.
If you're wondering why I didn't include Bridget from BRINGING UP THE BONES, it's because I know the name means "strong and resolute," and chose it as such.
Fun times!
